The origin of the Haldane gapped phase

  • 摘要: 文章系统地介绍了量子反铁磁海森伯自旋链中“Haldane猜想”提出的历史背景和导致的物理后果,以及相关研究工作的发展、演化的来龙去脉。可以从中看到,正是“Haldane相”的研究,开辟了当今凝聚态物理学的一个崭新领域,即对称保护拓扑量子物态。

     

    Abstract: We present a comprehensive review of the history and physical consequences of the Haldane conjecture proposed with regard to quantum antiferromagnetic Heisenberg spin chains. In particular, we focus on the various related historic developments, and show that the study of the Haldane gapped phase has opened up a new research field in condensed matter physics—symmetry protected topological phases.
