中子散射技术在功能性材料中的应用

Neutron scattering studies on functional materials

  • 摘要: 中子散射技术能够有效探测物质微观尺度的特性,尤其是在磁性探测方面具有独特的优势,因而在科学研究方面应用越来越广泛。文章结合作者的研究领域,介绍了中子散射技术在研究一些功能性材料中的应用及成果。包括铁电材料BiFeO3中自旋,声子的激发谱,热电材料PeTe中声子特殊的动态行为,以及磁性材料Mn1-xCoxV2O4中自旋波的特性,并分析了材料中自旋、电子、晶格、轨道的相互耦合作用。

     

    Abstract: Because it can effectively detect the properties of materials, especially magnetic properties, on the microscopic scale, neutron scattering is becoming more and more widely used in scientific research. In this article we introduce the application and achievements of this technology in analyzing the properties of various functional materials, including the spin and phonon excitation spectrum in ferroelectric BiFeO3, the special dynamics of phonons in thermoelectric PeTe, and the characteristics of spin waves in magnetic Mn1-xCoxV2O4. Based on these results, we analyze the interactions among the spins, electrons, lattice and orbitals in these materials.
